What is 'Clearing'?
Clearing is a process that opens each Summer, where prospective students can apply for a place on a degree course in the period leading up to the course's start-date in the Autumn.
If you're applying after July, depending on your course, this is likely how you will apply.

How to Apply for 2026 entry
Depending on your circumstances, you have the following options:
Already applied to an institution through UCAS?
If you have already applied somewhere through UCAS, you will need to call our Clearing Hotline to enquire about applying for 2026 entry.

Our friendly Admissions team are there to answer all of your questions and guide you through the application process.
Not yet applied through UCAS but decided you want to study a degree?
For most full-time undergraduate courses you can apply to University Centre Leeds through UCAS.
Visit the UCAS how to apply pages for a step-by-step guide on this.
You will need to know:
- University Centre Leeds’ UCAS institution code: L21.
- The UCAS course code for your course – you can find this on the course’s page on our website, on UCAS, or in our Prospectus.
Already know what course you want to apply for? Find the application link for your course.
Student at Leeds City College, Leeds Sixth Form College, Harrogate College or Keighley College and not yet applied through UCAS?
You can apply directly to University Centre Leeds without going through UCAS, avoiding the application fee.
You can use our applicant portal to submit your application if:
- You have not already applied through UCAS for 2026 entry
- You wish to study a full-time undergraduate course exclusively at University Centre Leeds
