Global Connections, Local Impact

University Centre Leeds host international students

In April, University Centre Leeds had the pleasure of hosting three of our international recruitment partners Rita from China, Zun from Vietnam, and Isha from India, for a three-day visit packed with creativity, culture, and connection.

The goal? To give them an up-close look at what makes UC Leeds and Leeds Conservatoire stand out for international students, from our industry-grade facilities to our vibrant student experience.

Exploring the Creative Core of Leeds

Their journey kicked off at Leeds Conservatoire, where student ambassadors led a behind-the-scenes tour of rehearsal studios, performance spaces, and production suites. They had the chance to meet Heads of Departments, Bhupinder Chaggar, Deputy Head of Music Production & Events, Erin Carter, Head of the School of Drama, and Joe Wilson, Principal of Leeds Conservatoire, gaining deeper insight into how we champion global creative talent.

Leeds Through a Student Lens

The recruiters also explored the broader student experience in Leeds, from accommodation and campus life to the city’s rich cultural mix and welcoming atmosphere. Guided city tours and chats with staff across marketing, digital, admissions, and the International Team gave them a full picture of the support and opportunities we offer international learners.

Stronger Together

The visit strengthened our global relationships and gave our partners the insight they require to better support future students in their home countries. With a renewed connection and first-hand experience, Rita, Zun, and Isha are now even more equipped to share the UC Leeds story worldwide.
