Digital summer activities July & Aug 2020

Swap sunburn for your very own digital dimension this summer with University Centre Leeds! The digital department at University Centre Leeds is running plenty of fun-filled, technology-themed activities for you to get stuck into during the summer holidays.

Whether you want to delve into the ever-evolving world of web development, meet your future classmates via video games or get to grips with games design, our free online sessions are open to Leeds City College, Keighley College and Harrogate College digital and computing students as well as University Centre Leeds digital applicants.

Video games and games design activities

Teams of three will take part in this knockout bracket based tournament on the game Rocket League. Winners will be the team that makes it to the finals and will receive a prize.

Computer programming activities

Whether you are new to programming or a skilled coder wanting to learn a new language, we welcome you to this online short course introducing Java and the Eclipse programming environment. The course will cover how to install and configure the software and the basics of the Java language, allowing you to try your hand at a variety of short projects with support from your tutor. Delivered online, with a mixture of seminars and activities, you can access the course by joining the Google Classroom with the code above.
