Katie King - Programme Manager
Katie has recently completed her BPTC LLM in addition to her fully qualifying LLB. Katie teaches on a range of programmes and modules, with a specialism in litigation and advocacy. Katie is Programme Manager for the LLB and Foundation Degree in Law and Criminal Studies. Her areas of research interest are advocacy and litigation

Debbie has taught on a range of degree and professional courses, and her research interests are focused on criminal studies and justice.
Carlie Lowe - Lecturer
Carlie is an LCC LLB & PGCE graduate who trained within the department and, as a departmental alumnus, has a real understanding of our students and their learning. Carlie has taught on a range of courses at various levels, throughout FE and HE. Her focus is Contract Law and her interest is penal reform.
Gary Heighway - Lecturer
Gary completed his BA (Hons) in Policing Studies at Liverpool John Moores University and Dip. In Safety, Health & Environmental Management at Nottingham Trent University. He is currently working towards a Masters in International Policing at the University of South Wales. Gary has a unique breadth of experience of experience with over thirty years in policing, predominantly within uniformed operational and specialist roles. Supported by experience as Police Decision Maker within Corporate Criminal Justice Department advising on disposal of in custody and noncustody investigations.
Gary has worked within Merseyside, regionally, nationally and internationally in the provision and development of advice, policy, manuals of guidance and strategy. Gary is dedicated to the development of others in order to further professionalise individuals and policing as a whole. This being reflected in his experience within the Police Service within Training and Development within the roles of instructor, trainer, training development officer, assessor and quality assurer. Developing personal, public, organisational and legislative training programmes for officers and staff; across all ranks inclusive of command level training. Gary is also an experienced Health & Safety professional, being a member of the Chartered Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Gary is a specialist in personal, public and organisational safety in relation to the maintenance of public order at operational, tactical and strategic command levels.
