Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice for Higher Education

This course will advance your continued professional development in higher education (HE) by fostering a scholarly and research-based approach to teaching, learning, and assessment in HE. This course also covers the key aspects of a HE practitioner’s expertise in accordance with the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF, 2011).

With this course, you will develop your teaching skills while enhancing the complex specialist knowledge that characterises the role of a HE practitioner. You will acquire an academic and practical understanding of higher education teaching, and build your own research identity.

Learning alongside other HE teaching professionals, you will develop your response to the progressive and ever changing demands of the higher education context. You’ll also learn how to formulate structured educationational interventions that link to departmental and institutional strategies for the enhancement of the HE provision.

By the end of the course, you will also be able to design transformative undergraduate experiences for all students, including groups that are traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
