About the course
This foundation year provides progression on to the full LLB (Hons) degree course. It will teach you the basics of law, developing the skills needed to successfully obtain a law degree. Acquire core legal knowledge and discover legal specialisms that spark your passion.
Our foundation year works for those who may not meet the entry requirements for the LLB Hons. As you progress through your foundation year, you’ll enhance your confidence with law knowledge by studying legal system modules in addition to academic skills.
On successful completion, you will receive automatic admission to the LLB (Hons) programme. Students who enrol on the LLB (Hons) with Foundation Year will be offered a discount of 50% on their fourth year fees.
During year four, you can also complete optional modules linked to the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) Graduate Fast-Track Diploma and can join CILEx as a graduate member and achieve an industry recognised qualification with no extra study.
There are additional fees associated with the CILEx qualification. Please note, this route is optional and doesn’t impact on the attainment of your LLB. The decision doesn’t need to be made until your third year of the degree. Please contact us for details of these fees.
