Collaborate with creative practitioners and captivate an audience as you forge a career as a contemporary artist. This degree is for you if you would like to emerge in the creative scene as a curator, collector, gallery owner, artist or art entrepreneur. You will refine your practice while learning marketing and promotional skills to support your professional development.
About the course
You will understand how to engage through artworks and apply your art to multiple contexts as the industry requires. Building upon the skills acquired in a foundation degree, you will nurture your creative vision while developing your critical understanding of art. You will explore creative contexts and art engagement learning how to mesmerise audiences.
This programme nurtures your creative ability, inspiring you to refine your practice while acquiring the skills that are demanded by creative employers in the contemporary art landscape. You will work in conjunction with other designers and artists to generate and grow a captive audience.
Explore a range of art-focused career routes and make creative connections with artists, gallerists, curators and more. You will also have the opportunity to showcase your work in various galleries and exhibitions in the vibrant Leeds art scene.

We will continue to follow government guidelines to ensure the safety of all our students and staff and have put in place additional safety measures, including the way we deliver your course.
For Semester 1, we plan to deliver your course through a mixture of online and face to face tuition and we will review this as Government guidelines change in response to COVID-19 developments.
Under the present guidelines, we plan to deliver your course 15% online and 85% face to face. We will timetable, where possible, so that you come into University Centre Leeds for a whole day and you will be in a bubble with your fellow students on your course.
Face to face contact will be delivered following guidelines on social distancing and increased health and safety measures. You will be made fully aware of the current measures in place and be expected to follow the guidance issued.
