You will train in a diverse range of popular movement styles ranging from traditional and contemporary ballet to non-western styles such as Afro-house, hip-hop, and house. You’ll learn how dance has influenced the creative industry in its historical, social, and cultural contexts.
Throughout the course you will create work for media and new technology and explore somatic approaches and ChiChi circus skills. You will have the opportunity to create your own choreography and perform your work to audiences in a variety of contexts. Major performance projects will allow you to work with leading industry practitioners to create and perform new and inspiring dance work that visually emotes and narrates.
By exploring multiple dance techniques, you’ll be perfectly positioned to break into the dance industry. Take advantage of our strong links with Phoenix Dance Theatre, Yorkshire Dance, and Northern Ballet as we are based in the Cultural Quarter of Leeds at Quarry Hill Campus.
