Be a pillar of support to the next generation of learners. Our Children’s Care, Learning and Development Foundation Degree will develop your professional skills allowing you to apply theory to practice. Our work-focused approach means that you’ll leave with an academic qualification as well as vital industry experience.

Be instrumental in supporting children and young people’s development. Our foundation degree will introduce you to a range of subjects relating to childcare and education. You’ll explore contemporary issues relevant to the sector and embed your learning in the context of professional practice.

As you progress through the programme, you’ll cover all aspects of supporting children’s holistic development, from play to politics and language to leadership. You’ll learn how to create an appropriate learning environment as well as gaining insight into early years learning. You’ll also acquire up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable people from risk.

We emphasise work experience allowing you to put theory into practice. As part of this course, if you’re a full-time student you will undertake a relevant work placement gaining at least 10 to 12 hours a week of practical experience around your studies.
