Clearing: the facts

Clearing is a process in higher education that gives students a second chance to secure a place on a degree course of their choice. There are many reasons why someone would need to apply through Clearing, such as missing the UCAS deadline, not finding a suitable course, or not receiving any offers. From advice about making an application to the important dates you need to know, we can tell you everything you need to know about Clearing.

All applications after Thursday 30 June will automatically be entered into Clearing. However, we still recommend that you call us before making your application so that we can confirm your course details and eligibility. We can also advise you on your student finance and accommodation options.

You are eligible for Clearing if:

• You are applying after 5 July 2022
• You missed the UCAS deadline
• You didn’t receive any offers (or had none you wanted to accept)
• You didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
• You declined your place using the ‘decline my place’ button in Track
• You are still looking for a course

Applying for Clearing through UCAS? Here’s what you need to do:

1. Find a course
2. Confirm your course with us and have your UCAS Personal ID number ready
3. Add your Clearing choice to Track before the deadline date – in UCAS, click ‘Add Clearing Choice’ and fill in your course details

You have now accepted your offer from University Centre Leeds and can relax while we confirm your place on our system. Once we have done this, your offer will show as an acceptance in the ‘Choices’ page on Track.
